If the US President had honestly wanted to calm matters in the country -- on this day and any other -- he could have declared himself to also be an opponent of monarchy and fascism. But he hasn't and he won't, because he is not.

Making a government efficient isn't rocket science, it's even harder than rocket science. That said, if we're going to let rocket scientists run government, let them first show that they can actually operate rockets.

The world just witnessed the single most appalling, most embarrassing, factually and morally bankrupt performance by a US President (and Vice President.) Trump claims he wants peace, but what he obviously wants is for Ukraine to suffer an enormous loss and for Europe to descend into chaos.

So... The Trump (mis)administration is setting up "peace" talks without the participation of Ukraine and, at the same time, wants Ukraine to agree to pay back the US for its support on terms -- including mineral rights -- worse than those demanded of Germany in Versailles.

Kurt Gödel, before his court appearance to become a US citizen, said that he had found a flaw in the Constitution, such that the country could vote itself into a dictatorship. He was dissuaded by Einstein from mentioning this to the judge. Looks like someone's rediscovered Gödel's flaw.
