Yay!

Curious how the tear manifested for you? I've had a small black spot in my vision for a few years but an opthalmologist said it was nothing 🤷‍♂️

There are plenty of ways to discuss frustrations with union leadership without throwing every public sector employee under the bus and staining their reputation with accusations of literal criminality.

I too take the occasional Brooklyn bus and I'm surprised that you're surprised by the quoted numbers. I notice a *lot* of people getting on the bus are not tapping.

Do you ride the bus? Especially outside Manhattan?

There shouldn't be this huge gap between public assistance and what they can do if you know an employee (although I also get that "I know this person and they are not a scammer" makes recovery much simpler).

Glad you figured it out! Funny how your post got on my fyp anyways—I would have helped!

They're not actually promising anything here and I personally have no issues with the phrasing. The work has to be done to avoid reliability issues in the future and it's already hard enough to sell the public on major disruptions. Not everything has to be groundbreaking.

Yes but currently they start your week on the first tap and use that fixed date instead of keeping it floating until confirmed (for lack of a better way to describe my thoughts)
August 28, 2025 at 6:42 PM
e.g. if you have a big gap between tap #1 and #2 it would be best to ignore tap #1 when deciding when to start your week. But this totally optimized system relies on knowing the future or looking backwards through your travel history after some period of time has passed.

It sounds like your ideal system would look for 11 eligible taps in the past 7d during each entry and only start a new period if able to (backdating the start to the first tap).

But that would be so confusing to explain + still not perfectly optimized.

It's what, 15mph faster for 6 miles north of Princeton? Don't hold your breath.

Zero-sum politics is when you build more housing and reallocate the street space to more efficient uses, and the more housing you build and the higher throughput the streets are, the more zero-sum it is
