My point is that the first paragraph highly insulting to the people who work at the BBC and is entirely unjustified.

The only name mentioned who would be better than Starmer is Ed Miliband... But if he became PM, a general election would surely be a necessity and I can't see Labour winning one with any leader

Well Lewis certainly never wants to work there again! Even though the corporation gave him his break in journalism.

Can't speak for the BBC, but Dave Lewis was definitely known as Drastic Dave at Unilever. The nickname followed him to Tesco.

Good lord we have a lot to do on education! Not fitting gas boilers is *easy*, *cheap*, and *necessary*; if you think reaching net zero is important how could you not support it?
While 60% of Britons say they support net zero, what actions are they willing support to achieve this? (1/2)
Making air travellers pay more the further they fly: 57% support among net zero supporters
Banning gas power stations: 48%
Banning gas boilers in new homes: 47%

Not sure I buy this. Davie had far outstayed his welcome, with many failures having occured on his watch. Strictly bullying, Kuenssberg snuggling up with Johnson, exclusion of "left wing" journalists from Question Time, excessive reporting and representation of Reform, the Gaza documentary

The mismatch of auctions for capacity on the interconnectors and then for prices is having a material effect too
Missing that there are many business cases on many future ICs pushing for this to happen though, because capex costs have risen so far, so fast.
If costs aren't pulled out and volumes maxed, then the business case for a lot of investment is falling apart.

The delay in doing anything around veterinary and phytosanitary checks is very argh; life for farmers and food suppliers would be much easier, and thus food cheaper, if this was sorted out.

At the moment, capacity is auctioned first and separate from prices, which can mean capacity doesn't match what what prices would demand. This costs a few hundred million a year (out of total market of ~£30 billion).

Just realised my post could easily be misconstrued; I was sighing at the lack of progress, not the description of a "single energy market"

I wouldn't be surprised. Any vehicle with "over the air" updates could be. But why would any manufacturer, any country want to destroy their export economy?
