When my daughter was 10 or so we were big fans of Brave and the Bold and were in a theater when the Superman V Batman trailer came on. When it was over my daughter said, "that's weird- Batman and Superman are friends." And I knew I had done my job.

to do is NOT eff up colossally. If you can consistently deliver OK stuff for all the challenges you will be safe AT least halfway into the series and often, even longer, really. You might even make it to the semi-finals by being extremely workman-like- decent flavors, decent execution, no flops.

This surprises me and frustates me about British bakers. There are soime basic truisms of GBBO that work and don't work and bakers consistently demonstrate great hubris by ignoring them. There's also a general strategy that is obvious if you wartch several seasons- for the first 1/2 all you need...

I was lucky enough to go to art school- one thing I will never forget was when our instructors would visit our studios occasionally and ask, "Where are the dogs?" If we only had "good" paintings to show they questioned whether we were striving & pushing enough. And yes, this angle is a bear to draw!

Bought a book called Animal Anatomy for artists several years ago when I realized I had no earthly idea how most animals were built. Learned about plantigrade locomotion (which is what bears and humans use) digitigrade (most other mammals dogs, cats etc.) & unguligrade (hooved animals). Blew my mind
