My Pride Month post. Because I'm tired and scared and angry and out of patience.
This June, if you're straight / cis and you want to be a good ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, I encourage you to "read the room." We are not doing happy cheerful rainbow unicorn love-is-love-is-love Pride this year. This Pride, the vibe is anger. We are fucking pissed off. Our rights are being trampled on, our lives are at risk, our children are at risk, and we are running out of patience with the clueless. This June we are cynical about "rainbow capitalism." We appreciate that big brands still see us as a valuable market to appeal to, but we're also not taking their bullshit when we know that they're perfectly happy to discriminate against us the other eleven months of the year. This June we don't give a shit how important Harry Potter has been in your life; there's no longer any valid excuse for continuing to consume any of that content if you consider yourself a trans ally. Sorry not sorry, your fave is trash. There are so many other things to read and watch. This June we aren't interested in your "straight but not narrow" t-shirt or your "you are safe here" banner on social media. What are you doing to *actively* demonstrate LGBTQ allyship? Have you contacted your legislators? Have you donated to queer organizations? Have you shown up at rallies and town meetings? Have you spoken up when you heard casual homophobia/transphobia in your community? This June, when you see rainbows everywhere, remember that queer people are also everywhere. And we are scared. And we are tired. And we are angry. And we need you to be angry with us.

So I am now a mom of a college graduate!!! Omg. I think this means I win at parenting, right? I beat the final boss? 🤪 But seriously I'm SO freaking proud of my kid. He's completely awesome if I do say so myself. 🥰

At my local Michael's, someone rearranged these letters to say gay sex 😂😂

Thanks to a change in medication I was restless and jittery this afternoon so I decided to do the mature thing and take a stupid little walk for my stupid mental health. 😫 Today's critter count was three bunnies, one fully black squirrel, and one grumpy cat who did not respond to my pspsps.
