Bizarrely, I have heard vitriol directed at ITV for the “over representation” of non white faces in ads, as if ITV had such editorial control.

It is also worth comparing ads on ITV 1 to ads on ITV 3, where it may be argued that elderly white people who go on river cruises are over represented.

What the complainers don’t understand is that advertisers will cast their ads with a mind to their audience.
