For centuries, poets have eulogized cherry trees and their blossoms as metaphors of impermanence. Tried to keep that in mind as I walked around the Tidal Basin today and took in the construction and the blooms.

Three teens at home for weeks now, no one wants kids back in school more than me. But a short dog walk just now shows street after street after street in Del Ray iced up. The main crosswalk outside the elementary school too. For good measure, I slipped and fell on my ass a second day in a row.
