Any chance that you could take people who you have secretly disappeared and

1) put them on a boat with a bunch of the Epstein tapes and evidence and

2) set that boat on a trajectory near Venezuela and

3) then blown it out of the water?

Asking for a friend.

We’re not meant to be heroic in isolation.

The latest essay in my series: Regenerating Belonging, is about what happens when we stop pretending to do it all alone—and start practicing visible care.

George Washington helped put down the Whiskey Rebellion — an actual armed uprising over a federal tax. Two men from that rebellion were convicted of treason and sentenced to hang, and Washington pardoned both of them. He didn’t hang anyone, even in the aftermath of a real rebellion.

No party, however righteous it believes itself to be, should become the substitute for the Constitution.

And no leader, however charismatic, should be allowed to imagine himself greater than the system designed to constrain him.

What if feeding the hungry is not charity, but obligation?

Not generosity, but remembering who we are?

A reflection on spiritual duty, neighborly care, and what we’re being asked to do now.

The sun rises. The rain falls. The air fills your lungs.

None of it sends you an invoice — but every gift asks to be sustained.

This week on Letters for Now, I explore what changes when we see nature not as a store, but as a relationship.

The Gift You’re Breathing
