The German police brutally assault an Irish woman protesting against Israel's genocide.

The German state is a disgrace.

It committed genocide against the Jewish people - far from its only genocide.

It forced Palestinians to pay the price, viciously silencing anyone who objects

Israel’s defence ministry just announced a contract to buy drones from Xtend. Its SKYLORD drone system was developed with €50,000 in EU Horizon money, which is not supposed to fund military applications. The EU grant page links to the current Xtend website, advertising its “military grade” drones

Old entertainers need to stop saying this shit. Firstly it's boring grumpiness. Two, It's not true and thirdly, if it's true it also doesn't make sense. How do you "not make" something that already exists

The Israelis murdered your colleagues and you still give their murderers the benefit of the doubt?
Twenty people were killed, including five journalists, by Israeli strikes on Nasser Hospital in Gaza this week. Israeli's Benjamin Netanyahu called it a "tragic mishap" and the IDF said it was not targeting the journalists. However, this claim has been strongly disputed by people on the ground
Did Israel target journalists killed in Gaza this week?

To be clear, the decision to leave was not orchestrated, it was organic. Nobody contacted me to tell me to leave. Each of the 14 writers chose to leave, because of their own sense of integrity as to what the Polari Prize claimed to stand for. 3/

By my count this makes 5 out of 12 authors on the Polari First Book longlist who have withdrawn. It's hard to understate the moral courage this involves, esp for folk launching their first book into the world. As so often, those with the most to lose end up showing the most moral fibre.
