Trying to make the world a better place. I hope you like Pharah.
Happy birthday, Pharah Overwatch!

What if we rode the Overwatch bus in Nairobi together?

Happy new year all! Feels like fighting upstream to keep making the world a better place, but boosts will come from the most surprising places, I think. Thank you again to @applecider.bsky.social for the amazing Pharah screenshot!

Happy Christmas, everyone!

Bluesky gets a preview of this. I toured the Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel Pressure Regulating Water Tank outside of Tokyo, and took photos with my Pharah hat. Such a cool place; it needs to go into an Overwatch map.

Sometimes the blue sky feeds don’t quite get it right, but their heart is in the right place.

Trying to stay optimistic. But for now…

You can only reskeet this today.

Um, well, yes. Did I mention I like Pharah?

Keep forgetting to come here. Have a photo of me in my Pharah helmet in front of the Roy Lichtenstein Labyrinth at Luna Luna, the 1987 German amusement park lost in Texas for nearly 40 years and reassembled and restored to go on tour.

Happy new year! Here’s to more Pharah, more discovery, more improvement, and more joy.

There’re a million things I’ll do differently for the next piece. But the Pharah gauntlet is complete, for now, and my Overwatch cosplay is another percent or two complete. See y’all at Blizzcon?

Okay. Elastic glued in; here’s hoping the e6000 holds it well for at least a full day. Also discovered I probably should have glued and clamped first, then painted; but most of the new blemishes will be under the gold wrist guard. Ever closer.

Also, I’m going to have to learn how to mix paint colors. Left are printed Pharah gloves I commissioned Braekor to design a couple of years ago- those are closest to actual Pharah armor color. Right are the ETcosplay gloves I got that I thought would work better. Neither matches the metallic paint.

Today, engineering. I have worbla for alignment pins; Velcro and elastic to hold things together; and e6000 glue which takes 72 hours to dry. I hope this all works.
October 29, 2023 at 7:41 AM
Okay. After the self-doubt of “did I mess up applying the clear coat”, I think the Pharah (from Overwatch) gauntlet is ok! Still darker blue; but still matches my helmet and is shiny (and will be shinier after the clear coat cures and I can polish it). Next: glue in alignment guides and elastic.

The subtle, Pepsi can blue of Pharah’s in-game armor that I was going for didn’t work out, unfortunately (left). So I went full electric blue candy (right), and while it’s darker, it looks better and shinier. And matches my helmet.

Gold pieces done. Not as dark as the actual armor accoutrements but very shiny in person. The other pieces have had the chrome done and are ready for the blue in a day or two. I think I’m finally confident enough to mention this is a cosplay piece from Pharah Overwatch.
October 25, 2023 at 4:30 AM
Closer. Sanding done; for the pieces that were finished yesterday and are now dry, applied gloss black paint, then chrome. Still shiny! Tomorrow, more paint.

Two more shiny primered parts.
