They both could be each other’s evil exes. These two disasters deserve each other tbh.

Preacher.

This really might be the best comic ever, and it very well might be my favorite.

I’m teaching her from the sacred texts

I really need to buckle down and read Jim Starlin’s Cosmic saga

I read Vaughan and Henrichon's newest this morning. It was an interesting take on how we've all become passive viewers of increasingly graphic depictions of violence and sex in the age of the smart-phone. I do feel like Vaughan's reliance on "jump scare" moments of graphic content is wearing thin.

I'm floored once again by Si Spurrier and Matias Bergara's fantasy comic Coda. This feels like one of the truly unique takes on the genre from the last decade. I'm excited to talk about it tonight!

I spent a month rereading and then writing about the book of Samuel and the life of David! I hope you check it out and like it!

I'm reading Notes From Underground and loving it. More detestable, miserable narrators please!

Kinda crazy it happened twice with spider-man

Characters I know I’ll like if I read the right run:

(I’ve already read the Bacchalo Strange and loved that… I just don’t know where to go next)

(I’ve read the Waid Flash and found it largely forgettable)

I love the movie guardians, but I gotta say… I’m really liking what I see so far of these Abnett and Lanning Guardians of the Galaxy

It can't be nostalgia that makes the comics like Annihilation Conquest seem so much more alive than their counterparts being put out right now. I've basically landed on the comics of the post bankrupt Marvel just being interested in establishing something NEW instead of referential. Any other ideas?

I love that these kind of heel turns can still get me invested all these years later

I’m reading Annihilation Conquest for the first time. I just met this cool new gal, I’m sure she will have a long and productive career as a superhero

Ultimately, I think the astronomical popularity of Saga despite delays, no previous "IP", or comic-marketing-nonsense like 1:10 variants, boils down to its distinct voice and strong thesis.

So many comics get by on *either* the art or writing actually having a voice, and with no thesis at all.

Should I start commenting on comic books again on social media, I will unfortunately bring this vibe to the platform

The Green Lantern is a comic so good it makes me want to start posting about comics on social media again (a no good, dirty habit)

I loved every second of Planetary, and I agree with its thesis: Superheroes have robbed comics of how diverse and weird they once were.

A comic that made me say “holy shit” out loud more than once a page.

This is up there as a new all time favorite comic book.

I won’t lie… with the right expectations, issues 1-3 of Hickman’s Ultimate Spider-man has been more fun the second time through!

Still not really what I look for in a spider-man comic, but it’s growing on me!

Weenies will try to tell you that Spider-island isn’t rad.

Everyone always cites Kraven’s Last Hunt, but for my money Spider-man: Blue is the best Spidey Story of them all
