NEW: Epstein survivors release the most powerful PSA I have ever seen.

Make this go viral so every member of the House of Representatives sees it.

Dick Cheney did more than anyone else to build up expansive and destructive executive branch powers in the wake of 9/11; he lived to see another president turn those same powers against his own daughter.

He should be a warning sign to the GOP today but too many of them are in the cult.

He's so unwell. He doesn't give a rat's ass about peace, our country, global stability, or anything like that.

It's all about him, his feelings, his ego.

And until journalists start reporting it that way, they will continue to deceive themselves and those who watch and read them.
HOW are you getting it done?
By pushing the victim to surrender.

WHY wouldn’t there be a war if you were president?
Because you would’ve allowed Russia to bulldozer Ukraine.

Also, BORING. YAWN.

Seems like it'd be a short meeting if Trump were innocent, because they could just release the files like they promised all along. Just redact the victims' names but let the rest fly, right?

Huh.

Wonder why it's taking a high-level strategy session instead.

Gosh, I’m sorry, @nytimes.com, I guess I must’ve missed all your extensive reporting on Donald Trump’s non-volatile, steady, stable, calm, thoughtful, deliberate, deliberative, measured, reasoned, dispassionate, judicious, careful, prudent, sagacious, and sapient side 🙄

oh absolutely. the issue is that trump is too vindictive to have just let sleeping dogs lie. he wanted to get revenge on everyone that aggrieved him in his first term. i am 100% certain, in fact, that the project 2025 stuff was sold to him as a tool for getting that revenge.

All I think about when I hear people say that it’s bad taste to dance on Hulk Hogan’s grave is that Emmett Till’s monument had to be replaced with a 500lb steel bulletproof monument because white people simply won’t stop riddling it with bullets. So now it just has tons of dents. From bullets.

Talk about The Wire, Sopranos, Game of Thrones all you want, but the greatest US television program ever made is Sesame Street. It's not even close. 50+ years of treating kids across class, ethnicity, religion not as mini-consumers...but as citizens with a stake in this world.

Colbert will be all right, maybe even better off. The world's his oyster and I'm sure MSNBC and Netflix will come calling. He could stand up the biggest late night YouTube channel in days. But they are just torching the Late Show, an institution, solely to appease a dictator. And that fucking sucks.

A lot of Trump’s appeal comes down to the fact that people whose lives are boring & mediocre because they aren’t particularly bright, talented, or motivated, would very much like to hear a story in which actually it’s someone else’s fault.

People living under fascism didn’t survive by giving up joy—they protected it.

They held onto the things fascism tried to erase: art, friendship, jokes, rituals, language, memory.

Not as escapism but as resistance. As proof they were still human.

Joy isn’t frivolous under fascism. It’s strategic.

There are no distractions. It's all bad. Systematically stripping trans people of their rights, guys in balaclavas shoving any brown person with a tattoo into a ummarked vans, ending healthcare for millions. It's all in service of fascism and technofeudalism. It's all one thing. That's the point.

My advice to Democrats would be to stop letting Republicans set the terms of debate, start making it clear you’re acting on principles instead of polls, and fire Rahm Emmanuel into the sun.
Bitch you're the only person talking about this shit! This is letting the other side dictate the debate!

We've been beaten over the head with Alexander Hamilton quotes for a decade and yet party leadership still hasn't internalized the easiest thing: "Those who stand for nothing fall for anything."

You want to know why Thompson, Tapper, et al. spend their days hassling Dems? Because Dems *care*. Dems react. Dems make them feel like they have agenda-setting power. Dems beg & scrape for their approval.

Republicans don't give a shit. Writing about GOP crimes doesn't bring the same ego boost.
NPR published a story 5 days ago about three high ranking Trump officials with clear ties to Hitler-admiring antisemites and it barely made a ripple. These are the kind of stories that used to end political careers. Now the subjects of the stories just hold up a middle finger and keep plowing ahead.
I talked to NPR about seeing DHS White House liaison Paul Ingrassia at a Nick Fuentes rally last year.
