Swedish-speaking Finn from Helsinki, living in Amsterdam.
Involved with the Internet for way too long, geek, technologist stuck in policy jungle. Like things that go - and go "beep".

An encouraging sign that the "anti-woke" campaign of far-right populist Geert Wilders and his PVV has backfired, while the progressive-liberal D66 shows a huge increase in popularity.

It is very much becoming a very polarized field of "educated liberals" vs "let's blame someone else" populists.

Another piece of evidence that there is something wrong with the education system.

I am old enough to remember first hearing. back in 1998 or so, about the obscure search engine set up by two Stanford University students, using a completely new algorithm called PageRank. It was so much better than Lycos, Yahoo! or even Altavista. I miss it.

Surprising honesty. From the conclusions of a paper on AI/machine learning.

And this is from the Cato Institute - Co-founded by Charles Koch and with strong links to the Ayn Rand Institute - and not some "liberal woke propaganda".

The dangers of automation. Just got a parking ticket for a truck that is safely tucked away in storage (and has the dust to prove it). I guess either the automatic camera or the traffic warden misread the number plate - but... does this look like a Land Rover from 1975?
