Working at a bookstore I've found that, you learn a lot about a person when you buy their stuff. There’s an unmistakable intimacy with that. Typically I enjoy this closeness, but when its sold by a loved one after a death...suddenly thumbing through pokemon cards for hours becomes morbid affair.
