Muskrats are cute wetland mammals that build burrows in the banks of ponds and streams. They have webbed hind feet for swimming and can stay under water for over 10 minutes. 🦊

Northern Flickers used to be a photography nemesis bird until one winter a pair of boys found the cafe. Now they bring lady flickers around and even the kids during the summer.

Nobody ever planted a tree in this photo. It was a working gravel pit 30 years ago.

We need to get over our obsession with planting trees and let nature do the job. The results are just SO much better.

It's also about realising we are not, in fact, central to everything. 🌍

Frigatebirds are aerial masters of the sky, able to swipe fish from other birds and snatch fish from the surface of the ocean! They stay aloft for weeks, but their feathers are not waterproof so they avoid getting wet. They also have tiny feet and if they end up in the water, they can drown. 1/4
