There is and always will be, the poor application of science. But that can only be challenged by better science. We need to educate people that science isn't perfect because we ain't perfect, but it's absolutely the best approach we have.

Fab!! I used to have interesting discussions with prisoners on the complex skills required for the drug trade and how you could use those skills for other (legal) occupational activities

I've just started this head OT role and seeing a lot of services, doing a lot of thinking, and looking at how other organisations approach delivery. Noticed that some areas OTs are moving away from being ward based and I wonder if this is one of the many causes. Obviously it's all very complex

When I was clinical in the prison and we unfortunately had guys waiting for hospital transfer who were acutely unwell. We made every effort to engage occupationally. Even if it was just to relieve a bit of suffering and just give them a bit of structure. So im keen we see everyone tbh

Thanks Sue. If it's something I need to encourage. Giving confidence in our therapists to use skills for all patients and not fall down the rehab right route.

It's very frustrating. It's like all the ex pats in Spain voting to leave and then being shocked that it affects them because of the end of free movement.

We did the same here with brexit. Some people didn't like hearing Polish in shops and it's taken 5% off GDP and we've lost trillions. The UK is just as thick

I interviewed one of my ex soldier friends for my undergraduate degree, and we had a fab discussion on washing the sink. Talked about belonging, loss of role, and occupational adaptation. Just by discussing washing a sink as a civilian !!
