A very happy birthday to William Blake. Born this day in 1757.

More in tune with the divine than most, and gifted with a poetic clarity of imagination most rare.

"The imagination is not a state: it is the human existence itself." - W.B.

Getting there. I believe it was ABBA that uttered those immortal words, "Onandonandon. Keep on rockin' baby, 'till the night is gone." Yerrrs.

It's not like there's a shortage of countries in the world to do business with. Why promote trade with this terrible regime? Canada's strength is not in its mere ability to do business.

The UAE's human rights record is absolutely horrific.

"From The Eightieth Floor Of The Empire State Building".
Oil On Canvas,
24x30".

When I finally got to NYC for the first time, I was 20 years old. I'd wanted to go since I was nine, and had worn out our Home Encyclopedia's pic of the Empire State Building from going over it with a magnifying glass.

Working my way tightly across the landscape, laying down the basics, while doing big, free adjustments to the light and atmosphere. It's an interesting back-and-forth.

From the ESB's 102 Floor Observatory, a few years back. So wonderful.

I thought this opening statement was wonderful.
It sums up not only Conservatism succinctly, it is also true of religious fundamentalism, that driver of so much Conservative thinking and force.

Well! My show opening at O'Connor Gallery went really well. Thanks to Dennis O'Connor, and everyone who came out. Especially those who made the trip from Toronto and all around southern Ontario.
It was a wonderful time.

The show runs until November 23rd.
