Photo from the Bloomingdales website of Sandro Vino Pleated Trench Coat on a model. The coat is a standard women's trench coat in almost every detail as far as i can tell, except the body fabric is medium fine vertical pleats, which provides wonderful drape in what would normally be stiffer and have a bulkier look. Anyway, i read it's not good for ppl presenting femme with broad shoulders, so I'm in love and heartbroken at the same time. Which is fine, because the coat costs like nine hundred dollars, and if i had 900 dollars, no i wouldn't because i gave it to someone who needed it. I don't need this coat, and I'm not sure i could wear it in public unless i thrifted it and wore a sign so folks knew in thrifted it.

Autistic people are more likely to experience GI issues their entire life. Often there is no other underlying cause detected. I went to the school nurse every single day with an upset tummy, but no gi issues were found.

SACRAMENTO) Children diagnosed with autism are far more likely to experience ongoing gastrointestinal (GI) problems than their typically developing peers. That’s the finding of a new UC Davis MIND Institute study published in Autism. The research also found that these stomach and digestive issues are linked to greater challenges with sleep, communication, sensory processing and behavior. The study followed 475 children between the ages of 2 and 12, including 322 children with autism and 153 with typical development. Families participated in detailed physician-led interviews at multiple time points. This allowed researchers to track both the frequency and persistence of gastrointestinal symptoms throughout childhood. The findings show that autistic children were not only more likely to report GI problems, but they were also more likely to have multiple symptoms at once. It was also more likely for these symptoms to persist over many years. Importantly, these symptoms often did not have an identified medical cause. This highlights the need for clinicians and families to pay closer attention to children’s overall health and well-being.

As an AuDHD: ritalin changed my life, and i am so UNaddicted that i usually forget to take my second dose of the day (and this is really common in ppl taking stimulants.)
Research shows that up to 80% of autistics also have ADHD.[2][3] Despite being so high, this degree of overlap is not widely known. This is primarily because before the publication of the 5th edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-5) in 2013, there was a rule that individuals couldn’t be diagnosed with both autism and ADHD. The decision to exclude co-diagnoses has had a ripple effect: Research before 2013 only studied autism and ADHD in isolation. This means that studies on autistic individuals may be skewed by the fact that many (potentially up to 80%!) of study participants could have also had ADHD without knowing. How confident can we be in older autism research? Individuals who received a formal diagnosis prior to the year 2013 may only have one diagnosis even though they fit the diagnostic criteria for both. Are there a whole bunch of autistics and ADHDers who are missing out on potential supports and understanding because of a missed diagnosis? Many AuDHDers are invalidated because they do not fall into the stereotypical presentations of either autism or ADHD. On the plus side, now that we know that autism and ADHD commonly co-occur, more recent research is being conducted with this in mind. Additionally, we are becoming more and more aware of the different ways that individuals experience AuDHD and how that differs from ADHD and autism alone.
