This is why it hurts as a DW fan that 9 was my least favourite in the series, after what was teased in the game. (Especially as I thought 6 would always be my least favourite). 8 acts more like 9 should've & vice versa.

Not surprised DW3 is being remade, but hope 4&5 can follow.

Then if some choose to carry on...

9: Another return to form/ new start
10: A celebration, cult favourite
11: Rolling on, but too many?
12: Running out of ideas/ like 4, but more controversial.

And yes, you may probably work out which series I'm talking about based on numbers.

The way I see sequels often play out (usually fighters, but other genres also show signs).

1-3: The definitive trilogy (unless you manage to mess it up)
4: The experimental sequel
5: The rebirth/ return to form
6: Everything and the dog
7: The Farewell/ a few cracks
8: Yikes

It's not always the no.4, but something about the 4th game of a series, either with a new gimmick or a total revamp feels like a special moment in time.

They're not all favourites nor do I dislike any, they just stand out for me. Maybe it was the late 90s/ 00s vibe that helped?

At least it showed us all the real life faces involved, and those who made false promises. And there's a documentary on Sunday.

But it just looks like a casting call at the end of a panto. A farce. A 'see you next time.' #TheHack
