Massive crowding in these names and likely to be some margin compression ("we will be watching you"), did you expect this to just keep going up forever?

fwiw. if this is correct, like isnt the original mandate of the BoE to ensure functioning gilts market.... also like they know long term rates are under their control if they so choose right?

Is Jerome Powell a believer, I saw he used the gold analogy yesterday, and seems that it goes back more than a decade. Again, I think you're conflating a certain extreme maximalist type with the average man on the street who's just accepted it as part of the financial landscape and has moved on.

look the profile of companies is just far superior now. just doesnt make sense to compare P/E by itself any more than it does comparing the companies of 2000 to manufactures of shovels used to clean horse shit in 1900

Just a thought but maybe you could've invested in the good UK public companies? Posted this a while ago when people were bitching about the ISA proposal - just off the top of my head, several good compounders anyone with a modicum of interest in the domestic market could rattle off

Counterpoint - the spread has widened ~35 bps since the election. That's not a great look, particularly since USA CPI and econ data has come in hot recently while in the UK the opposite. Inflation and growth are lower in the UK, OBR fcst don't show this budget doing much for growth.

Why is Ian King still in the job with the share price 50% below this bid price in real terms?
