I took this shot while hiking around Walden Pond a few years ago.

This mindset and call to action - going back to the garden and touching Earth frequently - will be my touchstone for the skull-numbing year(s) ahead.
An essential read. (Gifted article)

Does “Golden Age” refer to a time when planes keep crashing, eggs cost $10–15 a dozen, the U.S. is being booed and protested by all our allies, workers are losing their jobs, and Americans’ personal data is being rummaged through by unelected oligarchs and their strange crew of 20-something incels?

To get revenge for never being honored for anything, Donald Trump is now attempting to take over the Kennedy Center.

It's like were dealing with an orange King Kong, except with very tiny hands and no game plan. www.npr.org/2025/02/07/n...
Trump plans to name himself chair of Kennedy Center, fire board members
The president announced Friday that he would remove multiple board members, including the Chairman, who do not share his vision for a "Golden Age in Arts and Culture."

What DOGE is doing doesn’t meaningfully reduce govt spending and it in no way improves efficiency. What it does is weaken America and strengthen our enemies. It is time to focus on why that is the goal of Musk and Trump. Why is damaging the US their primary goal?

With all due respect to armed security guards (they are extremely important and valuable to securing buildings) I don't see them having ANY AUTHORITY to impede a member of congress. They don't even have arrest authority.
We were just denied entrance into the EPA after asking to meet with a DOGE representative. More to come.

Prediction:

By the time this dystopian shitshow is in full stride, the US will make the censorship structure of totalitarian China and the former Soviet Union look like child’s play.

Disregard at your own will and risk, and fight like hell to prevent it from coming to fruition.

The thing I want to ask Trump supporters is this:
How would you feel if a random 22 year old kid asked you for all your personal information. Would you hand it over? Would you be okay when he just took it? Because Musk has allowed that to happen.

They’ve called armed federal officers to the scene. We aren’t dangerous. We are here to represent our people. To defend public education. This is an authoritarian regime. You cannot block members of Congress from entering the Department of Education.

"I just want a eugenic immigration policy, is that too much to ask"

"You could not pay me to marry outside of my ethnicity"

"Normalize Indian hate"

"I was racist before it was cool"

These are things a DOGE staffer wrote.

He resigned.

Musk and his followers want to bring him back.

MLK was prescient, as usual, in his final days. Sadly and frighteningly, his conclusion (warning) 56 years ago has only grown exponentially more accurate in describing our present nightmare.

We’re not just heading for the abyss; we’re on a bullet train to the abyss.

So basically Elon Musk and his team of Dogie Howsers, none of whom have gone through any security clearances or background checks from what I can tell, are going from one federal agency to another doing a couple Edward Snowden's per day...and not even for any plausibly believable principled reason.
