To be clear, I buy multiple portable devices in a year because I am an absolute weirdo. I am not trying to shore up consumer confidence.

I mean... Good, but sort of a sad good?

Best response to constant cold rain. #thoughtbubble

(Ironically, the people for whom the BBC has got itself into this pickle are not only wholly unappreciative, but actively hostile to it. Possibly a lesson there for our other great 20th century legacy institutions, such as the Labour party...)

"Beyond reproach" is, it must be said, a very odd phrase to use here, but Shabana Mahmood also said that it was "unacceptable" to question the rightness of the supreme court, which is odd when collective responsibility means she should accept the validity of the ECHR.

I admit that I am now doing this for fun.

Lol. Amazing work by @vodafonegroup.bsky.social here.

Going well, then.

For some reason I am getting the impression that this headline, every part of which is horrifying and eldritch, is supposed to convey a message of hope.

Fair play to Streeting - it is objectively funny to have a "reset" meeting dedicated to discussing the persecution of trans people under the Conservatives and then to have a "re-reset" meeting literally the day after with Genspect, Bayswater and LGB Alliance, to reassure them that it will continue.

And this is the answer to my question.

It feels like this goes harder now it has been cleaned off, which was probably not the intention, although might have been the artist's intention when creating it.

Hate to make the same joke twice, but Julie Bindel appears to be self-IDing as a journalist and asking to be treated differently based on that self-identification.

I assume that we can now all decorate any surface with any design that to us reflects "coming together", with the full support of the Home Secretary. This is going to be... interesting?

Wouldn't want to question the expert, but my instinct would be not to tell people that you, an MP in the governing party, are not "owning" their cost of living issues.

...I recorded a modern folk album, accompanying myself on the zither, and got a photographer from the Telegraph to do the photo for the cover?

Definitely not a zombie.

This is a sort of adorable question (on I assume the French version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", which has the absolutely baller name "Douze Coups du Midi"), but also I think a jeu de grattage must be a scratchcard, which is _very gratfiying_.)

As we approach the 1000th month of the Learn What Binary Means 2025 challenge, progress remains slow.

Worst possible response to the "there are 10 kinds of people - people who use the binary system, and people who don't" joke.

I don't know much about Arizona politics, but I don't know if Adelita Grijalva would love being compared to Andrew Cuomo in service of this comparison.

Labour continues, it seems, to be ready to alienate its base in pursuit of the approval of people whose entire business model relies on telling their friends at the Guardian, Spectator etc that Labour are not moving far enough to the right fast enough.

Bold move, Cotton etc.

The answer, obviously, is "complain until you are offered £100 to stop complaining, and then refuse it so you can complain more".
