It would be interesting to see similar data for Neil Kinnock. The right wing media (ie pretty much all of it) ramp up their vitriol for politicians they dislike in the lead up to an election.

While I 100% agree, one has to wonder if the reason he thinks it now is really because 2024 was so egregious compared to e.g. the previous election that his party won, or is it because the Tories are polling so badly now.

I'm not sure the worldies and errors are all luck either but I think it will even out to an extent over the season. We have had more than our share of bad luck though (not this game). Man U, Chelsea and Villa could all have been very different and if we were top half, things would look much better.

As is the fan meltdown. Given the circumstances, we were ok. Got undone by 2 worldies and a late breakaway. Not great but not the end of the world.

There is a key moral distinction between immigration policy on new arrivals, no matter how draconian, and on people who have already been granted status, on set conditions. It is about being a country that keeps its word. If we're not that, we might as well fucking give up now.
