As of August 25, the death is from #HàTĩnh, while 4 injuries were each in the province and #QuảngTrị.

Dexter is the 4th Atlantic named storm of 2025. The name replaces Dorian, the 2019 Cat-5 that flattened the Northwest Bahamas. In an average (1991-2020) season, the 4th tropical storm forms by August 15 and the 1st hurricane by August 11. Still ahead of normal in terms of storm count.
And... the streak for a tropical cyclone being named in the Central Pacific basin will continue this year!

The wettest tropical cyclone in the #Philippines wreaked havoc on this month in 1911.
From July 14-17, a staggering 2,238.7 mm (88.14 in) was seen at Mirador Observatory in #Baguio, #Benguet. It caused extensive flooding in Northern Luzon.
