Not one, not two, but SIX trolls by Thomas Damon in one place. Yes! Filoli Gardens in San Mateo, CA. Had a lovely time earlier this week walking the trails to find them all, then grabbing a meal at the food trucks and listening to music.

May they always be honored and remembered.

Turns out that bricks of cash are very bulky. Here I am with $600,000 and I think I need a large bag to carry it!

If you are ever in Little Rock, visit the Capitol and inside there the Treasurer of State’s office. They will let you hold all this cash — but you have to give it back.

Still obsessed with bearded irises because . . . It’s spring and they are gorgeous.

It’s spring and the bearded irises are blooming in my garden! I really like these deep purple ones. All my irises were handed down from my late green-thumbed grandmother. #beardediris #iPhone

Now this is a brilliant idea: smash together a chocolate-filled croissant with a big chocolate chip cookie. Oh wow — it gets two thumbs up! Found at the Farmers’ Market in Nashville.

Was in Nashville recently and stopped in to the Johnny Cash Museum. Cash had a 50 year career in music during which he recorded ~100 albums and 1500 songs! And he championed political causes such as prison reform, civil rights, patriotism, and empathy/support for those less fortunate. What a legacy!

#PresidentialHistory
I enjoy traveling to see bits of US presidential history. This is President Polk’s grave (and that of his wife) in Nashville, TN.

This, right there, is a gopher poking up his head and just laughing at me and then ducking down to eat more of my bearded iris rhizomes and daffodil bulbs. Sorry little dude, but I am coming for you!

Found this beautiful rose while out on a walk yesterday. Love my #iPhone camera.

One more #PublicArt post and then I think I am going to move on to another topic. This is a Christmas light display in a town in NW Arkansas this December. To walk around this town square, while bundled up against the cold, was just magical. Yep, this was public art in my opinion.

Here’s a cool bit of #PublicArt: one of about 100 very large troll sculptures created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. This one is in Breckenridge, CO.

Public art is all around us. Don’t forget to look up! Here’s the dome of the Texas capitol rotunda. #PublicArt

More cool public art. This time in Marion, Ohio where they have a whole flock of cardinals in a variety of colors around downtown. #PublicArt

I came across this rose on my walk yesterday and took a quick photo. Only now that I am looking at it do Insee how the light of the sun made it so dramatic. #iPhone #photography

A baker’s dozen of books (some new, some from a local used book shop) that I assembled as a Christmas gift for my young adult nieces/nephew this year. I love encouraging reading, can’t wait to hear what they think of these, and hope they will want me to repeat the gift idea again next year.

Every ornament on a Christmas tree should have a story. This is one of several train ornaments that grace our tree every year because our son was obsessed with trains as a child. Now he’s in his twenties, but each year he comes home to put all the train ornaments on the tree. ❤️

A letter from an 11-year old girl written to President Kennedy in 1963. I admire the outrage and call to action from this spunky girl! #KennedyLibrary #PresidentialLibraries
