As a data protection and disaster recovery guy who came from an ops background, this made me realize that I really should have committed more of the experience to writing. Lots of metrics and best practices, not so much about the times in the trenches.
Apropos of nothing: do we have any written experience reports of what it’s *like* as an engineer to be on call for various nines of availability?
I know the math for them, but I realised I don’t know if we have a collective idea of what it FEELS like to operate each of at those levels

Tzeentch. For AI slop is forever changing and none of what you see can be trusted to be the truth. Ask an AI the same question 10 times and you may get ten different answers. Look at the pictures and count the fingers and limbs. Mutation abounds.
I think it's time to ask the professionals, like @learninglaser.bsky.social & @aotearoabadger.bsky.social, which of the Ruinous Powers best represented by AI slop so that it may be offered to their throne. I fear we may have manifested a new one.

Streamins service UI is increasingly bad deliberately. It's dark UX patterning as access to show catalogues narrows.
If you let the user search, they will look for shows you no longer have (or never had).
The goal is to hijack that journey and force a show they'll feel is 'okay' in front of them.

Going through dad’s stuff hasn’t been easy, and there’s so much more to go. Hooking up his little Spatley boat to my car to take home really hit me hard though. Lot of memories anchored up off a shoal #flyfishing with him and talking. I really miss that. I’ll have to find folks to go fishing with.

Clouds, trees, waterfalls. Lot of rain of late and it shows. There’s a trail up to the bottom of some of these falls, it’s apparently not difficult. I should wander that way at some point.

Not a great picture but I had to pick something up from fb marketplace down the road from me. I stopped to take a picture of some sheep and got photobombed by the proudest looking sheepdog. So happy.
