the idea that all the elements across a series connect neatly and "solvably" erase the craft of the writer, erase the fact that these works are written in time, by multiple people, under varied conditions, and without a perfect, overarching plan

rather than as a vessel for themes, storytelling, character development – the things that plot should be a scaffolding for (and a thin one if we're being honest)

instead of the interesting and meaningful friction that occurs when works are created years apart or with different collaborators, we have an endless mill of "ENDING EXPLAINED" and "CHARACTER'S BACKSTORY SOLVED!!" videos, as though plot was somehow a worthy end for its own sake
