The easiest counter is all the "companies are requiring people to use it" because you don't have to "require" people to use something useful. Companies would be desperately trying to stop people using it until they figure out policies and legalities and people would do it anyway if it was good.

Like, we need to remember that these AI programs do not run on the ether - their ecological impact is because they're power hungry, computer intensive, heat producing systems.
They're EXPENSIVE!
If they don't make money, they GO AWAY.

One of the reasons I've never bought into AI doomerism, is that to believe "it's here to stay, get used to it!" you have to buy into the idea that AI generated elements are so hardcoded or integral as to be permanent, when they really aren't.
You can simply remove it, and it's gone just like that.
