"It was going to be such a great--the numbers are great, they're fantastic--a great press conference--some might say the best--grown men, tears in their eyes, saying, 'Mr. President, best press conference ever!' and then some--I don't even know who--just passes out, right as I was about to talk."

Cloud cuckoo land as the administration of the world's largest economy and military superpower. It's great.

The Kraken lean into still acting like a minor league squad in a way that's very endearing. Like a glow in the dark alt jersey is pretty farm-team, but it's spectacular.

It's an absolute classic. If you can get her to like a Longines Dolcevita just as much you'll save a few hundred to a few thousand.

Let's compare 2024 to 2025. A county Trump won by 25 points elected two Democrats to the state-wide Public Service Commission (which, among other things, negotiates rates and prices with Georgia Power.)

And a President who was an actual barrel chested freedom fighter.

Columbia County went Democrat for both after Trump won the county by 22,000 votes a year ago.

There's a reason defense vendors become "the old guard," because they build a reputation for fielding shit that works and meets requirements. VC-pumped startups fielding shit actual troops hope to use for a decade-plus is maybe not the best alternative. 7/7

*incoherent screaming* Sacrificing requirements for speed (with financial incentives for doing so!) is literally how you get products that put troops in danger. This isn't fucking code! Being wrong faster has real consequences! 6/?

No! NO! God, NO! Multiple different platforms to perform the same function is every maintainer's nightmare. The idea of "we fix 1st PLT's stuff, and then we go to this whole other connex full of other parts/tools to fix 2nd PLT's stuff" defeats the whole speed of execution concept on its face. 5/?

There are some good aspects of this memo: UAS shouldn't be about making a UAS, it should be about soliciting the payload dev & delivery community about what they want from a UAS platform. No more duct-taping a payload to a UAS because the UAS guys never asked what was supposed to go on it. 3/?

Given that the battlefield informs requirements, do we want to sacrifice those requirements on the altar of speed and then discover if we were wrong or not and the price is paid in blood? "You go to war with the Army you have" is being replaced by "the Army Palmer Luckey can field the fastest." 2/

The second week of this study was on 14 September, which caused a bunch of people to leave the church because the pastor (who is Black) did not mention Charlie Kirk's passing from the pulpit, while explaining James 1:19-27, which includes this passage: 2/

My church is doing an expositional study of James' epistle, and after 8 rocky weeks we've reached chapter 5, and I'm not saying James is telling us to eat the rich, but he's certainly encouraging the rich to eat themselves.

I love that the non-Mayor DeBlasio slid this into a conversation about "low class" Mayor deBlasio:

The wild part is how, if you look at where ICE has been doing its thing, in courtrooms, workplaces, random harassments, apartment buildings, would you guess the proportions they're targeting people with no or some deportation protection? 2/2

To the credit of Pierce Watches from the 50s/60s era, that watch kept brilliant time, the service was because some of the gems had fallen off the dial and the chrystal was scratched. There is something to the old ideas about craftsmanship, I believe. 6/?
