There's an axiom that we become an amalgam of the 5 people we spend the most time with. Their likes become our likes, their wants become our wants, and their blind spots become our blind spots. So who are the 5 people your AI engine is hanging out with the most? #/?

Wait, didn't Casino Royale already do a reset of its own by basically making him "earn" his 00 status? No one cares that he died, do whatever you want. Claim you're telling some part in the middle. Go back in time, go forward, just make a decent film.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”
Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:
“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

The fun part is how many of these things have gotten less expensive but not actual cheaper. $100 dress shoes but they're made of poster board with a leather veneer. Software is cheaper but festooned with ads/micro transactions. Even cheaper stuff is still enshittified.
Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.
If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

That Tudor Black Bay '25 Chronograph is very nice, and I hate that I have to discard O'Leary's opinion because he's an ultra rich moron who wears two watches at the same time because usually one of them is a very good, not ostentatious choice.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

It's going to be hilarious when the CR the Senate is deadlocked on reaches its expiration date and he has to answer why Congress isn't in session to craft a new one and I hope every reporter asks relentlessly if it's because of the Epstein files. They won't, of course, but the thought is funny to me
Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 95th day out of the last 107.
12 days of work in 107 days.
With full pay and benefits.
The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.
It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

I get the breathless reporting, but this is the sort of contracts NFL GMs would draw up if players associations didn't exist: "Hey, kid, we'll pay you $10K/year in Little Caesars gift cards, but if you win five straight Super Bowls we'll give you $1B. Do you believe in yourself or not?"

"Y'don't say?!" I exclaim and I fire off another e-mail to a distro that contains 8 people who have been furloughed for 5 weeks and receive about 3 e-mails a week just from me, while adding another memo to a furloughed GS 15's pile for him to sign so we can begin experimenting a novel capability.

At a meeting yesterday, staff voiced deep concern about anti-Jewish sentiment at Heritage and on the right.
That was followed by a Heritage staffer complaining about attending a Shabbat dinner.

Let's compare 2024 to 2025. A county Trump won by 25 points elected two Democrats to the state-wide Public Service Commission (which, among other things, negotiates rates and prices with Georgia Power.)

There's no shortage of folks south and west of Fredericksburg who don't have a mechanism for voting for a black person who were likely very confused by this race.
But it's still good to see the youth are revolting.

These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.
