So the feeder price of cattle, ( going to a feedlot to be fed up to size), is 3.65/lb. Corn price is 4.26/lb. Live cattle price is 2.15/lb (which are cattle at slaughter weight) and the cutout beef price is 3.32-3.71 (select/choice). Market price you pay: $6.0/lb. Who is profiting? #beef #markets

Once upon a time, when I was farming, there was a cat named Trouble. Cats will align themselves to one person, and Trouble's was the farm dog, Brisco. Brisco was not fond of cats, but he tolerated this one. It was like getting good with the mob boss, keeps you safe. I painted them, long ago. #art

Did this in the evening, not sure I like it (artist blindness). Mixed media, ink, acrylic, pen, on watercolor paper. Had to get it past the "ugly" stage, that is what pushes me to finish a piece. To see if it is "working" and comes out good. Better pic in am. #art #bigcats #lion

Took the dogs for a short hike(we are all a bit out of shape for anything long) then took them to where the management land reaches the Suwannee River and let the boys out for a dip.(The two girls are not fond of water and the oldest is too old to get up the banking.)River is very low. #dogs #fun

I am a *not* young retired dairy farmer/animal science-y person, I don't follow the crowd (ask my family), raised English bullterriers and showed them (in obedience too!), lifelong artist, reader, gamer, writer, love all things paleo..1/
A while back, (like a couple of years), I made this linocut . First one since high school. Now, I want to make some more prints. I can't find it. (I live in an RV and it is amazing how things get "put in a safe place" and lost.) I just have to not look for it and it will show up. #art #prints #cats

A pastel I did when I was a sprite just out of HS. Given to my grandfather, he framed it. After he died I got it back, but I think it got wrecked in my many moves through time. The dog was a neighbor's, "Pupdog" (one of many Pupdogs) at our summer lake cottage. #art #dogs #oldart #pastel
