Yesterday the Scottish Parliament voted for a new law requiring owners of large landholdings to publish plans to increase biodiversity - rather than maintain the status quo in a nature-depleted nation. 🥳
The Land Reform Bill may be weak, but it's a joy to see this one provision made stronger.

By scrapping plans for a Galloway National Park, the Scottish Government has again proved it can't successfully plot a path to a wilder Scotland.

Glad to see the Natural Environment Bill is here.
Without the detail (to follow in subsequent legislation) it's too soon to say if it'll lead to the recovery of Scotland's land and seas.
We need clear, ambitious and updatable targets for Scotland's ecosystems.

Well done to those who managed to recapture the lynx spotted in the Cairngorms.
I would like to see lynx back in Scotland. But work is already underway to do this legally and with local support. It's a conversation that Scotland has to have in the open.
