The man of a thousand hobbies. Bushcraft, gardening, SCUBA, woodturning, blacksmithing, knife smithing, shooting, fly fishing, welding, Mini Coopers, motorcycles, and on and on.
I scored a pretty cool anvil. I never thought I would be an anvil nerd, but here I am. This is a 173lb Hay Budden that was made in 1906. I cleaned it up and mounted it today.

Here are some more pictures of my booth. It needed to be strong to hold my bells.

I went semi-pro with my blacksmithing this week. I opened a small concession space in a local store. I need to make so much more stuff, but I am started.

It was a frustrating night in the forge, but I did make this pretty cool bottle opener.

I took some time for maintenance. My pinches and drifts have laying in the red shelf rusting. Now I can see what I have, get to them easily, and they are cleaned and waxed.

We have some great Jr. Blacksmiths here. They all made nice spatulas, then used them to BBQ up some bugers. Blunt tip, drawn out, penny scroll, rat tail handle, twist, drawn out blades, riveted joints.

I bagged out a spatula tonight. This is the blacksmithing project I will be teaching Boy Scouts this weekend.

This is not too bad. It will be a perfect spare for forge parties and classes. This is the 132 lb'r sold by Vevor on Amazon. For the price, it is decent. It does not compare to quality anvils like my Holland, but I have used worse anvils.

I got a small metalworking class of Dcouts next weekend. It's time to add more space for young, eager blacksmiths.

Now, I can share the finished leaf bell. I forged the leaves. Welded the branch. Forged it into an organic shape and wlfed it to the bell. Finally, I powder coated it.

I want to see more blacksmithing work, so I started a new feed. I'm happy to add specific people and lists. Right now, it uses key works and a couple of hashtags. I'm trying to keep video game references out of it.

Oh man. I need a little vice on my welding table. Shit. I don't have any bolts. Fuck that. I'm welding. Done

Had a great Toy Drive and car club gift exchange with the Misfit MINIs yesterday. We had over 30 cars for our club alone. There were dozens of clubs. We filled a 40ft container with donated toys. It was awesome. We also had an ugly sweater contest, of course.

Santa Biker rides again. I have an annual tradition of riding my heavily decorated hack around during December. It is a lot of fun to see drivers start to smile and wave when they see me. A few more lights never hurt. #motorcycle #sidecar #christmas #hack #santa

Mmmmm Thankgiving dinner was amazing. Everyone one in our little family contributed something, and it was all fantastic. I have aton to be thankful for, but tonight I am thankful for good cooks.

This motorcycle is incredible. I only ride it in December. It sits under a canopy all year long. It fired straight up once it got some fuel in the carbs. Time for a pre-Christmas wash.

I'll be teaching Scoits again, so I'm adding to the fleet. This is anvil number 5. This thing was too inexpensive to pass up. It rings like steel. We'll see how serviceable I can make it. A new stand, stripped paint, and a little light shaping should have it ready to go.

I finished up my little EDC gentleman's knife. I spent a year thinking through the design. I was happy to use it to cut open a large water bottle during a power outage within an hour of finishing the sheath. 😆 It is Nitro-V with stabilized large leaf maple scales

We had a good storm come through last night. Everything at our place stayed where it was supposed. >650k people are without power, though. It may be a while before we get it back.
