Sigrid's new album is fantastic. she's so underrated and feels like a hidden gem within the pop world. so many big choruses here and sleek, energetic production. i love her voice. Hush Baby, Hurry Slowly is an incredible pop song and Have You Heard This Song Before hits a massive high. so good.

Shelby Oaks doesn't do too much narratively, but i found it very well made. the found footage parts especially were scary, tense, and effective. it loses some steam, but i personally enjoyed the ending. great visuals and atmosphere. good for the season. i had a good time lol

Good Fortune was cute. it had some nice laughs and great characters. the entire cast was charismatic and compelling. it had some bumpy moments but overall i had a nice time with it. a great way to spend an afternoon.

Black Phone 2 is incredible. what a genuine HORROR movie. it's bolder, gorier, daring, & a lot scarier. Ethan Hawke is horrifying, and Mason Thames & Madeleine McGraw are so compelling. setting and cinematography were great. a bit too long but i didn't care. emotional ending too

Kiss of the Spider Woman exceeded expectations. it's hopeful, romantic, and tragic. the seamless balance of worlds throughout heightened all the emotions and stakes. it's unapologetically queer. Tonatiuh delivers a star-making performance. i loved Diego Luna. and engrave the oscar for JLo NOW

i am genuinely amazed that One Battle After Another is as good as everyone says. few things actually live up to that kind of hype. but it's truly a masterpiece. the entire cast, the score, the cinematography. really all of it is on another level. all i can think is holy shit 😭😭

i had a lot of fun with Night of the Reaper. it has a great atmosphere, love for the genre, and a kick ass final girl. the score stood out too. it actively defies your expectations with twists that work to varying degrees. but i really enjoyed it. and the opening was VERY good.

Strange Harvest is genuinely very creepy. Mr. Shiny is a great horror villain. and the true crime doc format is done so well. if i would have stumbled on this with no prior knowledge, i would have believed it to be real for most of the time.

Twinless is fantastic. a little dark, emotionally vulnerable, and very, very funny. James Sweeney does wonders with his own script in front of and behind the camera. and Dylan O'Brien absolutely nails it. seriously. awards level stuff. so great to see him shine like this.

happy 10th bday to E•MO•TION, one of the greatest modern pop albums. what a gift this collection of music is :)

Weapons was a big miss for me. outside of a few unsettling images, it wasn't all that scary. the structure was kind of irritating, and it made it hard to connect with the story or characters. can't say if it's a good or bad movie, but it's one i didn't like. i'm bummed lol

Freakier Friday was a huge surprise. it's HILARIOUS, energetic, and very heartfelt. love to see Lindsay shine like this and the entire cast was so funny. it plays into the nostalgia without feeling cheap. i had such a great time with it. laughed so hard i cried many times.

The Naked Gun had me laughing the entire runtime. sometimes to the point of tears. just joke after joke after joke. we all clapped at the end. loved the buffy reference.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps was a lot of fun. they did a great job with the family dynamic of the team. the plot was engaging and wasn't full of itself. i liked it a whole lot.

Oh, Hi! was a nice surprise. Molly Gordon & Logan Lerman expertly and effortlessly lead a movie that could have gone off the rails. Sophie Brooks delivers a strong script & direction. the movie is funny without mocking itself or the characters & their feelings. it's a good time!

I Know What You Did Last Summer put a huge smile on my face. it knows when to reference and when to put forth something new. the friend ensemble is so good, the fisherman is brutal, and the legacy cast feels important. a very, very good slasher movie!!

i really enjoyed Superman. it had so much heart and i liked its point of view. David, Nicholas, and Rachel shine in their roles. i liked that we were dropped in the middle of the story. the humanity of it all was front and center. hard not to feel all the emotions.

Jurassic World: Rebirth has some really high highs. a bit rough at the start, but finds its rhythm. it brings the franchise back to basics. great tension, set pieces, and characters. there's a standout sequence with johnathan worth the price of admission alone. just a FUN movie.

Materialists is romantic, a little cynical, and very honest. it has one of my favorite lines of all time. love what it has to say about love, relationships, and what we expect from each other. some of it plays like incredible theater. Celine Song...you genius.

Dangerous Animals fucking rocks. jai courtney is bonkers, hassie harrison is badass, & josh heuston brings a sweetness to it. it's thrilling, tense, & offers genuinely horrifying moments. really great visuals in a story about survival and the food chain. LOVED it & the sharks!!
