Sometimes, it sucks to see something that you've enjoyed become oversaturated with a dumb meme or marketing hype for pushing it too much. Ends up ruining the charm.

With Level-5 putting all their bank into promoting Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road's release for the end of the year, I think Decapolice will be coming out in 2027-2028. No news for TGS 2025 and we probably won't be getting a Level 5 Vision update this year either.

RIP Itagaki. This man changed the fighting game genre with DoA and rebooted Ninja Gaiden! I still remember playing DoA on my Dreamcast and being floored with how smooth the gameplay was.

Ananta is really taking off with its ambition as a gacha game! The biggest selling point is that there's NO character-based gacha and all characters will be available as you progress through the story. The real gacha is based off customization like clothes, vehicles and houses instead.

Finally started Rewrite Harvest Festa! Never thought I'd get a chance to read it, but it's finally out in english. Rewrite is a series that I will always love for how hilariously charming the characters are and it knows when to get insightful and sincere about the importance of human connections.

In one of the recent Trails interviews with Kondo, he mentioned that the number of companies making JRPGs in Japan is actually decreasing. This is something I never noticed before.
Outside of Falcom, it does feel like Square Enix and Atlus are the main pillars of JRPG games now.

Reading up on the FGO/HSR interview bought up some interesting points on the evolution of gacha games. Nasu said that gacha games were just something to consume time on your phone, but now they've grown into bigger games in terms of scale.

It's interesting seeing how the promotional art for Decapolice has changed. The first one gives you an upbeat futuristic adventure vibe where there are two layers to the city.
The second one is more minimalistic and noir-esque. It feels more darker and serious with the city crumbling.

Got my first ending in Hundred Line and... Wow. Just wow.
Getting into the Comedy Route without even trying is on brand for me. I genuinely laughed a lot while playing through this. After all the heavy stuff in Route 0, it's fine to go through a lighthearted one for a start.

Time to play the kusoge that was too hot for Nintendo. DERQ has always been a fun little niche series that isn't afraid to get experimentally edgy with story and gameplay. DERQ 1 and 2 were better than I expected them to be.

Finished the prologue/Route 0 of Hundred Line! This game is shaping up to be something really special. I think I'm going to play my first route without a guide, then use one to get other endings.

Tribe Nine is a really compelling game with a unique setting and fun characters, but it’s a shame that it had to be a marketed as a gacha game. It feels like they built the gameplay, story and characters first and put the gacha nonsense in second.
