As an editor, seeing the phrase “negatively impacted” makes me cross. How about hurt, harmed, damaged, impaired, impeded, constrained, injured, hindered, degraded, jacked, broke down, messed up, fucked over, screwed with …? Or, if using seven-plus syllables, be more precise.
