As bad as it all is, it still hits different when you’ve met and talked to the people others are trying to diminish or erase.

Nicole Malachowski and so many others deserve our efforts to not let those responsible succeed.

Point of clarification: I see some private school supporters who think they would get their choice of school if public schools went away.

Friend, no. It isn’t your choice at that point.

Private school means they choose to accept your kid, which means they might not.

If that happens, then what?

Of all the things being said, the one that has left me the most dumbfounded: “Yeah, but a lot of presidents have done what is happening now.”

No, friend. They didn’t.

Anyone talking about real endgames in terms of what Musk plans to do with all of the data he’s collecting? He’s going to use it, yes, but it seems really shortsighted and aiming too low to say “just to rip off people”.

What are truly meaningful uses of the data he has? New systems he controls?

Good luck.
NEW: Pam Bondi issued a flurry of memos as soon as she took charge of the Justice Department today—including the start of a probe into DEIA at companies and educational institutions, both public and private.

It’s a First Amendment nightmare.

It's okay, suggested even at this point, to just turn off the TV and notifications. It's not helpful.

Not that we should be surprised, but if I am a public educator, I wouldn’t expect much support from the DOE from here on.

It has been kneecapped/only in name at this point.

Teachers, you’re going to have to find strength in numbers and stand up for what you know is right by your students.

I will hold on to kindness.
I will hold on to equity and inclusivity.
I will hold on to sympathy and empathy.
I will hold on to showing respect for those who do the same.

I will hold on to these because this is what I can control. These are what I can use to build the world I want to live in.

We get data *from* the WHO. Without this, we're flying blind with data regarding evolution of infectious agents globally, putting us behind if we need to develop vaccines & treatments, just for one aspect. This puts the whole country at risk.

Always and forever.
On #HolocaustRemembranceDay, we honor the memory of the more than 6 million Jews and countless others who suffered the horrors of the Holocaust.

I can’t believe I even have to say this, but Nazi salutes are absolutely unacceptable & should be unequivocally condemned by all.

Fear continues to rise on this.
This is a growing fear of mine... when do people who already can't tell which side they've selected on such things also don't realize how desperate they've become when their healthcare/economic worlds start falling apart?

How blurred will the line be when it comes to "as long as it isn't me..."?

May I recommend setting up a Proton mail and not using your government work email to file a complaint. And don't do it during your tour of duty hours. Document everything. This isn't legal advice. Just advice from a friend.
Feels like a good time to remind everyone that if you are a public servant wishing to report retaliation, acts of corruption or abuse of government power, I have a page for that on my website: www.wyden.senate.gov/whistleblowe...

You don’t have to be angry to be steel in your resolve.

Doing the right thing and treating all people the right way are loud in their own right.

Be an effective loud.

This is what I hope every institution, group, etc. is doing. Backup on everything. Keep it in storage. Plug it back in eventually.

Not yet, anyways.
