Schedule historically followed agriculture. New England is (was?) cooler and harvests were later. (Yes, schools have an agricultural period calendar with an industrial age schedule—bells signaling changes—in the digital period. I’ve left a couple out but I’ll bet the picture is clearer now.)

You’d never know a lot of reservists or Guardsman were in the military if they didn’t mention it, you can probably parse out most cops off duty though.
