More changes are afoot at the NIH, and not in a good way.
There are several new notices (NOTs) out. Here’s a big one: grants.nih.gov/grants/guide...

I will not only blame the Senate Democrats who are caving. I will blame them all. They needed to keep their ranks in order. If this happens, it's the most spineless political retreat imaginable and it will harm millions upon millions of Americans. Chickenshit, self-neutering nonsense. Cowards.

Warner’s office has voicemail (I left a message), Kaine’s does not. Coincidence?

Democrats ready to reopen the government on a promise of a vote to save Obamacare subsidies should remember: Republicans made the same promise on D.C. funding earlier this year. That vote never came. Thinking this time will be different is political delusion.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

@kaine.senate.gov just tried to call and leave a message at your office but you don't seem to be accepting voicemails. Don't cave on the shutdown without the ACA subsidies being extended. A promise of a vote is not an extension. Republicans don't keep their promises! -A Fairfax Co constituent

🚨 Major shake-up in NSF funding for K-12 STEM ed:

Caps proposals at $750K max for 3 years. Prior cap used to be $5M up to 5 years for some programs.

Archives several existing programs (DRK-12, AISL, CSforAll, TD, parts of ECR:Core). Combines into broad program with much lower expected # of awards.

So happy to have the opportunity to collaborate with the DC Gay Men's Choir, who we'd originally tried to have with us at the Kennedy Center but it didn't work out (Finn cast *was* able to join us).

If you try to marginalize a community we are going to make sure our stage is there to shine a light.

I think Democrats should offer voters a broadly defined anti-fraud platform. Yes, obviously, start with Trump’s influence peddling, but don’t stop there. Online fraud is massive, almost every phone call you get is a scam, and the solution has to be federal or it just won’t work.

This is a monstrous bill, a declaration of war on American families. It guts our services to fund giveaways to billionaires and exponentially scale up Trump's personal secret police force.

We'll hold Rs who passed it accountable and we'll fight every step of the way to protect those it harms.

Washington, D.C., has a population roughly equivalent to Alaska's.

And it has zero senators. If D.C. had senators, the GOP megablil bill would have failed today.

Instead, Murkowski got carve-outs and money for Alaska, and then voted to subject DC to the bill

Received a notice this morning via Office of Naval Research that DoD has implemented 15% indirect cost cap for future and existing awards. The attached memo is dated 6/12/25 and signed by Emil Mitchell. Trying to find a public post of the memo to share now. #RAdminSky

Time to shut down congress. It's the only way to limit the damage. A courageous act of heroic defiance is the kind of shit that changes history. Democrats, every nasty trick the GOP pulled on you! Kick it right back to them.
