I have a coffee machine that makes the coffee straight into a thermal jug. I use to put it on, get ready for work, put the jug into the car, and have fresh coffee once I got to my desk at work.

Forgot to put the coffee in one morning, drove 30 miles down the M3 with a pot of hot filtered water.

Free access appears to have expired (it has for me, and logging in doesn't help).
The increasing lock down of management systems in cars (frequently in the pursuit of security) is making cars harder to maintain. Disposing of useful cars because simple fixes are too difficult is becoming an issue.

..and at the same time!

This was the poster they used in the summer to entice travellers, but decades of heat soak in the tunnels mean its no longer true (I actually have these posters at home!).

Bought my 2nd gen #Nest learning thermostat when they were released in the UK in May 2014. I knew #Google was ending support, and It stills operates my heating (breaking that in late October would've been a dick move) but have to work out which features are gone. Another #Google product killed.

These are all excellent female characters from some of my favourite comfort watching.

Its an excellent point, I suspect nobody is suggesting soccer teams around Liverpool or Manchester are assigned licences to improve financial performance.
I'm stuck thinking of Belfast, Cork/Limerick, Dublin, and Galway as just geographically separated rather than in population density terms.

Being an Irish fan I have to confess, I didn't realise all fours teams where within 80 km (50 mi) of each other, and Scarlets and Ospreys (Llanelli and Swansea) are just 15 km (10 mi) apart. Does seem to make that "west Wales" licence the only one up for debate (the "capital" licence seems a joke!)

My favourite recent example is an American taking offense at the words;
"Gavin has show himself to unfit to be President";
unaware that they have mistaken a conversation about the failed campaign of Irish Presidential candidate Jim Gavin for a conversation about California Governor Gavin Newsom.

“a reminder that my book is currently almost OFFENSIVELY cheap on the ebook reader of your choice”

Good lord! You weren’t kidding. Another sale here.

As the Irish economist David McWilliams is found of saying;

"God love the DUP.... they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity!"

Also worth highlighting that Westminster paid more to support Northern Ireland than it paid to the EU. Reunification could have been cheaper, and less damaging.

They appear to have given up! 7 times around the holding pattern. Listening to ATC they're not the only ones.

This Aer Lingus ATR 72 flight from Bristol into Dublin isn't having much fun. 5th time around that holding pattern while larger aircraft are going straight in

They're using the old crosswind runway (16/34). Mainly used as a taxiway now so things aren't great when then press it into service (and presumably down to single runway operations?)

Tragically for the public, the police lied about the events leading to the shooting and blocked the questioning of officers for a week which led directly to the inquest jury believing the police lied to them.
We all hope lessons will be learnt, but history shows this is not always the case.
