Not super recent, but I was playing my Xyris, the Writhing Storm deck. I played out Devilish Valet, wheeled, then swung for 2,097,152 trample damage.
The Magic card Xyris, the Writhing Storm, a Snake Leviathan Legendary Creature with Flying and “Whenever an opponent draws a card except their first one they draw in each of their draw steps, create a 1/1 green Snake creature token.” The Magic card Devilish Valet, a Devil Warrior creature 1/3 with Trample, Haste, and “Whenever another creature enters the battlefield under your control, double Devilish Valet’s power until end of turn.”

As someone who is disabled due to Long COVID and who has had to avoid cons that would’ve helped my business because of concerns for my health (and the health of others), I’m having trouble articulating just how upset I am by this.
Two tweets from someone following the MtG con in Vegas this past weekend. The first says, “And now for the real roulette: hoping I did not get sick this weekend.” The second says, “Real talk though some folks are gonna get sick, shout it out quick if it happens to you so that the folks you hung out with can react before it spreads.”

Now that I’ve been here for a few days I wanted to introduce myself. I’m Dave, a TTRPG creator. I recently released “You’re (Not) A Wizard,” my game of getting accepted to magic school- by mistake- and having to fake your way through to avoid getting caught! Think: Magic School meets The Good Place!
The title “You’re (Not) A Wizard,” with a spell book, wand, and an adolescent in stage magician clothes looking into a top hat with a confused expression while a dove sits perched on top of their head.
