We are a coalition of over 80 organizations working to reduce the number of incarcerated people in California, reduce the number of jails and prisons in our state and shift wasteful spending away from incarceration and toward healthy community investments.

We don't want 'coverage' offered by law enforcement that criminalizes people. We envision and advocate for deep investments in all of our communities so folks don't have to rely on law enforcement.

Law enforcement does not effectively prevent harm. We don't believe the state should be expanding CHP which criminalizes our Black and brown communities. Especially as critical services are being cut, we advocate for funding toward areas that prevent harm such as housing, education, healthcare, etc
