If Ken Sim, CPA, would have delivered a budget like this to one of his clients he would have been fired.

Let’s hope Vancouver fires him next year.

Also to be clear what he and ABC delivered was an election pamphlet. Nothing more. #vanpoli

@seanorr.bsky.social how helpful, at the end of the day, are the registered speakers? All the plants supporting the motion today made me wanna register next time 😤

Today the mayor of Vancouver called me an antisemitic terrorist supporter. Here is my speech:

This isn’t controversial
Being against what the UN calls a genocide is not controversial

Trump’s deployment of the National Guard in California is not about the protests.

It is about expanding his never-ending grasp for more power. It is about moving this country toward authoritarianism.

All Americans must stand together against this gross abuse of power.

Crockett: Right now, it seems like you don’t care about the constitution unless it’s the second amendment and that’s misinterpreted as well. There’s other amendments.. And we don’t get to just change it because our fearless leader says that he doesn’t like it

In New York, ICE detained a busload of farmworkers that were actively involved in a union drive.

In Washington state, ICE dragged a farmworkers’ rights activist and leader out of his car to detain him.

Be warned: attacking unions is a hallmark of fascism.

Great to see cuts to City’s grant for school meal programs reversed by unanimous vote.

Now bring back Renters Office, restore library hours, end the supportive housing ban, become a Living Wage employer again, and invest in desperately-needed social infrastructure.

I’m really only just getting into it but I genuinely love birding as a hobby. The entire goal is to look at the bird. Is there a bird? There is a bird! Look at the bird! If you are very keen you can learn what to call the bird so that you can properly thank it for the joy you feel when you see it. 🪶

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim promised in 2022 that he would hire 100 new police and 100 new mental health professionals.

He took no time in doing the former, and still has failed to deliver on the later.

Redistribution expert here: no.

The riding expanded into Conservative territory.

In 2021 Poilievre won by 15.6%, but if it was contested under the 2025 boundaries, he would have won it by 20%.

It was made more "safe" for him — and yet he lost.

fact checking this sort of stuff is exhausting

So many copaganda accounts on here are using tragedy of Lapu-Lapu Day to argue for more policing. Cops maybe running press conferences, but majority of people responding to this tragedy are community members offering & sharing resources & health care workers (many of whom are Filipinx immigrants).

Canadian election coverage is refreshingly, hilariously boring.

I’m living for this lady on CBC who keeps complaining that she has to work late. They throw to her for a take and she gives the anchor her breakfast order. Now her coworkers are griping about working to midnight. This rules.

Canada has a tough choice to make today. We have to vote between our current prime minister who is well respected and already helping our country through a very difficult period -or- a weirdly damp guy who wants to take away our rights and sell our country to another country.
