A year of photos day nine - soft friends. Theres this expectation when you grow up to stop having plushies and other soft things in your life. However, as this is a stupid idea, i ignore it. This is my capybara. Whats your closest soft toy?

A year of photos day eight - oddments. We collect so many random things through our lives. Im not sure where i got this owl statue from. Was it a present? A charity shop find? Ive got a lot of owls... what do you collect?

A year of photos day seven - faces. Isnt it amazing how we see faces in everything around us? Clouds, plants, random things. Of course, it helps if theres a wife with eye stickers too sometimes!

A year of photos day six - listen. My headphones get used a lot. Sound to help me block out other sound, sound to help me focus, sound to help me hear friends on the far side of the world. There's so much to listen to!

A year of photos day five - above. When I was young I used to look at patterned ceilings like this and try and read hidden words or see math equations in the bumps.

A year of photos day four - light. Drizzle on the way home from work, a light by a charging station like a modern lighthouse showing the way, with the camera behind like some eclectic eye of a modern god.

A year of photos day 3 - Glasses. Do they help you see better, or just help you see the illlusions people and societies put up in finer detail?

A year of photos day two - Out on a walk, seeing a plane overhead. Where is it going? Are those on board excited for the journey or just the destination?

Sometimes, real things can look almost fake. @beebootlefloof.bsky.social and I saw this bird and at first we both though it was a kids toy or a model the groundskeepers had put there. Until it jumped up, darted into the bush and made both of us jump!

Good morning bluesky. Woke up feeling rough again today - this sore throat is horrible - so spent some time tinkering with my photos while I waited for a cough sweet to do some work so I can take my regular meds. Think I'm really starting to get a handle on how to use this software properly :)

Been playing with my photo editing tools some more today. Not 100% happy with how I'm using them to do colour spotting vs just whole image colour editing, but it's not *terrible*. Just not where I want it yet.

So I went and took a bunch more photos of plants and stuff, and then prodded the internet for open source alternatives to Lightroom. Expect my nature photos to be at least 90% more pretentious from now on :P

One of the things I love taking photos of is the juxtaposition of man-made things and nature, usually stuff like weeds taking over disused spaces etc. However, at the local botanical gardens they've got grapes growing over rusting iron frames and the colours look so good I just had to share.

Just realised I haven't said anything today as I've just been playing modded Skyrim all day. So here's another photo I took - this one's of some blackberries :)

So I got a new camera recently, and finally found time to go out to take some pictures of things at the local botanical gardens. And spotted this little flower in the bi flag colours! Had to downscale the image terribly to fit on here tho, bluesky doesn't like 6k by 4k jpg files much...
