We are disappointed that the UK government has stopped the Sustainable Farming Initiative in England with no notice and with no consultation with the farming sector.

This was their flagship environmental scheme, so where does it leave agroecological, sustainable farming?

CSA is an opportunity to exercise your economic power as a consumer and say that you want a food system that pays farmers fairly, treats your local landscape ethically and allows you and your community to be well fed.

It's easy to shop without thinking about where the produce has come from, whether it's in season, what the farmers were paid and how much it cost the earth.

But if you can, source food directly from your farmer to secure their livelihood and make much needed economic, social and ecological change
