My website https://cruelvirginiamedicaid.org/ warns and informs the hundreds of thousands of Virginia Medicaid holders soon to be purged from Medicaid, as I was. The most vulnerable are removed even though tens of thousands are actually eligible!

2% of Americans support cutting Social Security.

3% support cutting Medicare.

2% support cutting CHIP.

6% support cutting Medicaid.

9% support cutting housing assistance.

12% support cuts to the ACA.

Never forget how harmful and deeply unpopular the Republican agenda is.

Without Democrats being in charge there would be no Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, or access to healthcare through the Affordable Care Act. Republicans want to privatize or abolish these programs. Voters should be well aware of their intentions.

We have Medicaid purges only because we don’t have universal Medicaid. Instead require people to jump through bureaucratic hoops to get it. Why? www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

1000 percent because of reactionary backlash to obama/progressivism the medicaid expansion did not arrive in the state of nebraska until 2020 and i get angry at lot at the national democratic party for all kinds of abandonment issues. and im not even the main complainant
I remember in 2009 when the public option and Medicare expansion fell down and died. Lots of people every day since died who might have lived. Remembering them and their families this morning.

I believe this is because Biden ended the Covid emergency, and all the Medicaid expansion that was part of it has un-expanded, several states at a time. The podcast Death Panel is the reason I know this.

Medicaid in my state has a work requirement now. They already know I'm on disability. I'll sure I'll be exempt but I have to do more paperwork and get notes from my doctor. What a shitty system. Also, I got kicked off food stamps last year because the "pandemic ended." I just had COVID last week!

The good news: 26.7% of the #MedicaidUnwinding population kicked off Medicaid/CHIP moved to #ACA QHPs or BHPs. Another 3% or more likely went right back on to Medicaid soon after.

The bad news: The coverage status of the remaining ~70% is unknown.

I was established in Medicaid long before the pandemic, and now purged. "Poof" my health care ended. I was in active treatment for Stage IV cancer with bald head, chemo fatigue and too much weight loss.

In my purge notice: Would I like to be an organ donor?

How cruel is this?

I was going to have a nice, quiet day tomorrow, but Medicaid just informed me they are kicking me off it at the end of March, so I have to search for a new plan. Oh and apparently the gibberish passwords I use for security questions at Healthcare.gov are not working.

Fun!

Now this makes sense to me: people are angry because the federal expansion of benefits during Covid really helped them (certainly they helped me!) and then those benefits were snatched away again: no more stimulus checks, no more Medicaid, sharp reductions in food stamps, no more child benefits.
