I’m David Harth. I’m old and I love comics. I’ve written for CBR and now write for ComicBook.com. I also have a Substack, Crusty Old Fan. I was main character of Comics Twitter one time and AnneLovesComics’ fans spent two days sending me death threats.
Coincidental that most of your major projects involve heroes squabbling and fight.

Looking at most of your major works over the last twenty years, one of the main ideas is something that makes the heroes fight each other or similar.

So, is that you or is that the writers? Dan Slott once told me that the editors don’t hire people who won’t do what they want, and it’s far too 2/

At this point, I wouldn’t put that past Marvel.

Marvel has hurt way too many times for my to actually believe that they do anything out of kindness.

On the X-Men book? Why is Wolverine, one of the better selling solo books that isn’t a Spider-Man book get the most milquetoast writer ever?

It’s a conspiracy theory, but it’s one that fits Marvel in a lot of way right now.

But other than that, the rest is blah.

Marvel doesn’t like the X-Men and hasn’t for a very long time. I think this dislike has become so ingrained in the company that they’re willing to mess with the like, so the traditional Marvel heroes can succeed.

Why is there only one A-list creator 2/

Finally, I might actually buy the Iron Man book. Williamson has sold me with Superman, so maybe his Iron Man will hook me. Plus, there’s Madame Masque and artist Carmen Carnero.

Wouldn’t it be shocking if Cap, Thor, and Iron Man were better than the X-books? I have a theory, so stayed tuned.

It was a good idea, but it’s not terrible. It’s a little new reader unfriendly in a way AoA wasn’t, but it’s not terrible. X-Men of Apocalypse is pretty decent, and better than it should be. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s fun, you know? I have my problems with the X-office, but you know. 2/

It’s worth every penny. The Marvel one was great, but as usual this year, DC is just dog walking Marvel when it comes to writing. And art. And everything.

The back-ups are also really, really great. The John Constantine/Doctor Strange and the Wolverine/Nightwing are the best, and I can’t decide which one I like more. Both of them work really well for completely different ways. Harley/Hulk is good screwball comedy and Ms. Marvel/Static is touching.

Batman/Deadpool is perfect zany “Silver Age” Morrison awesomeness, and their Deadpool is the best version of the character ever. Seriously. Mora’s pencils are obviously outstanding and getting to see him do Morrison again is a treat. Awesome villain, great establishing gag, amazing surprise return.

They’re so much more fun than they get credit for being. Even subpar Claremont is more fun than a lot of people’s best work who get jobs now at Marvel.

Thank you!

There are dozens of us!

Unfortunately, this is completely on-brand for these fascist monsters - doing something stupid to make themselves look strong to the ignorant that will damage the lives of normal Americans.

@tombrevoort.bsky.social thank you very much for your time and I look forward to hearing from anyone, even if it’s just telling me no. At least that way, I’ll have the address to send the next one too. I’m not giving up.

Thank you again and have a good day.

@tombrevoort.bsky.social but like I said - I don’t know any other way to go about it.

I can be reached here or at my email address - davidharth420@gmail.com. I just want a chance, sir, to prove I can do it. I understand you are all busy, but I’ll be repeating this until someone tells me to stop.
October 17, 2025 at 2:33 PM
@tombrevoort.bsky.social it’s basically a Marvel Unlimited webcomic. Something quick and digestible but with a little bit of depth to it. I have never written a comic professionally in my life - I’ve practiced scripting, and I have it down. I know this isn’t the way you usually go about things

@tombrevoort.bsky.social, I have a pitch for a twelve-panel, three page comic about Wolverine and Captain America fighting Hydra. It’s just a simple little piece that deals with something that I’ve never seen dealt with before between the two of them. It is part of an idea I first had years ago.
October 17, 2025 at 2:33 PM
@tombrevoort.bsky.social I have a pitch for your office and I don’t have a way to do it, so I’m trying this. I get that this isn’t the way you go about things, but this has been the thing I wanted to do for years now and I’m finally at a place where I feel confident to shoot my shot. So, here it is-
October 17, 2025 at 2:33 PM
@tombrevoort.bsky.social (to make sure you get all of them), I know Marvel doesn’t take unsolicited pitches, but I figured I would try because I don’t know any other way to do this. I’ve talked to other writers you’ve given a chance and they told me that you’re very upfront, so I’m being upfront.
