Today (Yesterday) I spoke at the Arlington Heights Village Board Meeting calling on them to protect immigrants and to draft an ordinance prohibiting ICE on Village-owned properties. 30 people spoke in favor and none opposed. The ordinance passed unanimously 8-0. That was just to draft it

It is very good, I think, that we have found a way to remain a truly international denomination.

Not national Methodist churches in a loose communion, but one worldwide United Methodist Church, despite schism rending us asunder and the occasional heresy oppressing.

I celebrate that the United Methodist Church approved language to no longer allow discrimination against people with disabilities in the church. It is a good first step, but laws do not change hearts. We need honest efforts of listening and giving leadership voice to people with disabilities.
