I think a really cost-effective anti-heroin program would be to have a bunch of high school students read Naked Lunch. Burroughs told the truth about heroin, teenagers have pretty good bullshit detectors, and the book makes heroin look super un-sexy.

Kroger store brand pepperoncini are $0.21 per ounce. Mezzetta pepperoncini are $0.31 per ounce. Both taste about the same, I think, so Kroger has found another customer. Storage shouldn't change the taste since they're in the fridge in a sealed jar with their pickling vinegar.

In late 1983, I and my family were in Oklahoma, where we saw some wheat had taken hold at the edges of a farm. We harvested, by hand, about 1/2 cup of wheat. I ate some raw, it was neat. I wonder how many people have done that in the last 40ish years? Reconnect with your ancient Sumerian!

I had a weird problem a few days ago that showed that Linux users *do* sometimes reboot. When you're using kmix and pipewire, you have the ability to set the volume for applications to over 100%. Volume levels on youtube vary widely, so this is useful if you're watching something much quieter than
