The British people didn’t vote on leaving the SM or the CU
- that was Theresa May’s decision. Lammy is talking about rejoining the CU and it’s quite possible that can be achieved without rejoining the EU. Of course, rejoining the SM would be a much better option - manifesto 2029?

If it’s adjusting a tax break on pension contributions I suspect it’s not going to affect the poorer pensioners and more likely a restriction on how much wealthier people can put away. Can’t read the article because if a paywall but if it’s upsetting The Times then this is the likely scenario.

Finally Labour are making the right noises but it’s going to be a drawn out process to reverse the Brexit disaster. Anyone thinking they should immediately join the SM or CU is not being realistic (much as I’d like it). ‘Closer ties’ with the EU now, and fight the next election for a mandate.

It’s only 99p if you’re not a member. It’s your first credit when you sign up to a deal where it’s 99p for three months and full price thereafter.

Doesn’t the carat value signify the quality of the gold? If it’s 24 carat, then how is it higher quality than other 24 carat gold?

‘We do have clean air, the cleanest air for many many years’ - says the man giving a speech criticising environmentalists, doing his utmost to promote fossil fuels and rolling back every measure protecting the climate.

It wasn’t what he said. It was the video of Trump dismissing his grief for Kirk and talking about the ballroom that did it. The orange buffoon’s pride was hurt.

🤣 My daughter was there yesterday morning when they started. The letters were spread out ready to go up.

Freaky outcome but my first thought was ‘get these louts off the golf course’. Hitting a driver off the green? Apart from the potential damage, it could have gone anywhere.

It wasn’t quickly settled and was eventually paid at $16.3M - you don’t pay that kind of money to someone you ‘hardly met’.

I appreciate we may be talking different levels, but not having a right foot never stopped Kevin Sheedy from being a brilliant footballer.

Funny how he doesn’t complain about MIT, which gets about 40% of its revenue from the federal government, and probably has a similar ratio of foreign students as Harvard. Didn’t he have a relative who went there?

Imagine watching a state of the art stadium rise on the banks of the Mersey and thinking that the world-renowned architects wouldn’t have considered climate change.

Always difficult but most of them would be interchangeable with the 80’s team. The earlier players are all league champions and cup winners (and a couple of World Cup winners too). Latchford and Thomas as a combo were phenomenal and the team they were in went close in the league in 1978 and 1979.
